February – March 2018

Welcome everyone to 2018, and hasn’t it gotten off to a racing start!

We have welcomed a new coffee machine into the shop, the old Italian was no longer a hot stud and we thanked him for his service before he retired to the skip. The new Italian is more expensive at $2.00 a cup but he does make exceptional coffee and hot chocolate.

I have had a request to bring back the card and scrapbook customer submissions. This is not a competition but cards and pages made by customers and voted on by customers to pick the most popular. The first theme will be purple, black and silver” card or scrapbook page, and entries must be in by March 16th. We stopped doing this a couple of years ago because  there was not enough interest. We hope it does better this time around.

I will be running a card class using a resist technique with Pixie powders. We did a similar class at camp, it was so much fun I want to do it again! Look for the sample cards in the shop.

Another class that was fun and magical was the paint pour class a couple of weeks ago. I will re-run that class in March. Limited places in this class.

We will be closed on March 30th for Good Friday. I will be open on Easter Saturday and have put down a clay play day. Anyone who wants to bring along their polymer clay and tools can come and share ideas and play the day away. Easter Monday is class as usual, though I will probably close early.

The new year is here and it is business as usual 🙂 I will be doing three quick cards in  February with a black and white theme, they will be a little nautical and will make excellent men cards.  The special occasion card is a little bit vintage and a little  bit feminine.  It is presented in lovely gift box, and is a perfect gift when you don’t give presents.  Due to much demand I am running a book class in March.  This little book will have a steampunk theme  and will be full of surprises,  there are limited places so book early.

But don’t lets forget Christmas too soon, some jokes to remind you:  1)What do vampires sing on New Years Eve?  Auld Fang Syne  2) Who is Santa’s favourite singer?  Elf Presley 3) What do angry Mice send to each other at Christmas time?  Cross Mouse Cards ….. Yippity Yippity do dah ….That’s all folks .  Keep Smiling
